Degree days and biomass accumulation in different genotypes of barley

, : Degree days and biomass accumulation in different genotypes of barley. Indian Journal of Plant Physiology 27(3): 290-294

Phenology, biomass accumulation and ambient temperature relationships were studied in eight genotypes of barley raised during 1980-81 and 1982-83 rabi seasons on the sandy loam soils of Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi [India]. These are expressed through 'phenothermal index' and 'heat use efficiency'. In four genotypes heat use efficiency was computed and found to be in phase with crop growth rates.
