Effect of UV-irradiation, spleen cells and MLN cells on protective immunity against Angiostrongylus cantonensis infection in mice

, : Effect of UV-irradiation, spleen cells and MLN cells on protective immunity against Angiostrongylus cantonensis infection in mice. Zeitschrift für Parasitenkunde 72(2): 221-226

Third-stage larvae of A. cantonensis were actively motile prior to exposure to UV-rays. None died after exposure to UV irradiation for 5 or 15 min. On day 15 after immunization no pre-adult worms were recovered from mice infected with larvae exposed to 5 or 15 min. UV-irradiation but 18.67 pre-adult worms were found in control mice infected with 100 non-irradiated larvae.
