Effect of insecticides and variety on stem borer SB incidence

, : Effect of insecticides and variety on stem borer SB incidence. International Rice Research Newsletter 10(6): 20

The effect of some insecticides and rice varieties on the incidence of stem-borers was studied in Nigeria in the wet season of 1983. Carbofuran controlled Diopsis thoracica most effectively, followed by BHC and decamethin Carbofuran-treated plots had significantly fewer D. longicornis and Maliarpha separatella per plant than other plots, and yield was significantly higher.
