Experimental determination of the chemical potential values of water in wood

, : Experimental determination of the chemical potential values of water in wood. Drevarsky Vyskum (106): 19-29

Values of the chemical potential of water in wood, mu (a measure of moisture gradient), derived experimentally during desorption and from a generalized diagram were compared for spruce, pine, beech and oak. The two values of mu were close for e.m.c. <10%. For e.m.c. >10% the values of mu from the diagram are less than values determined from desorption isotherms.
