Genetic architecture of two heterotic populations of maize

, : Genetic architecture of two heterotic populations of maize. Maydica 30(1): 31-36

Genetic variance parameters were calculated for grain yield and 6 yield-related characters in 64 half-sib groups, each having 4 full-sib progenies, from each of the broad-based populations Mezcla Amarillo Selection (MAS) and J607, grown at 2 sites. Additive was more important than dominance genetic variance for grain yield, ear length and ear circumference in MAS, but not in J607.
