Leisure counseling with adults across the life span

, : Leisure counseling with adults across the life span. Leisure counseling Concepts and applications: 214-233

After a review of the stages of adult development, the role of leisure in each of these stages is described. It can be seen that leisure counselling interventions are more likely to be successful during periods of searching and questioning, such as the Age 30 Transition and the Mid-Life Transition, as the individual is already receptive to change. While preventive efforts might be best focused at these times, remedial efforts can and should occur at any time.
