Poisoning of farm animals with Galega officinalis (Leguminosae)

, : Poisoning of farm animals with Galega officinalis (Leguminosae). Point Veterinaire 17(91): 453-455

This plant is most abundant in SW France, and it poisoned sheep more often and more seriously than cattle or horses. There was little risk from the young plant. Hay gathered at the time of flowering or fruiting was dangerous if it contained 10% of the plant. Toxic doses for sheep were 400-500 g of the fresh plant or 100 g of the dried plant.
