Relationship of transferrin and milk protein types with milk fat and milk yield in Brown Mountain and Holstein dairy cows at the Cifteler and Karacabey breeding stations

, : Relationship of transferrin and milk protein types with milk fat and milk yield in Brown Mountain and Holstein dairy cows at the Cifteler and Karacabey breeding stations. Doga Bilim Dergisi, D1 Veterinerlik ve Hayvanclk 6(3): 65-73

The relationship of transferrin (Tf) and milk protein types with milk yield and fat content of milk was studied in Karacabey Brown (KB), Cifteler Brown, American Brown Swiss (ABS), German Brown and other Brown Mountain cows and in Holstein-Friesian and Dutch Black Pied (DBP). Tf type was not significantly related to milk yield in any genotype, but in the KB and DBP genotypes cows of the Tf AA type had significantly more fat in their milk than cows of the Tf DD type.
