Resistance of pubescent Medicago species to the alfalfa seed chalcid, Bruchophagus roddi (Guss.)

, : Resistance of pubescent Medicago species to the alfalfa seed chalcid, Bruchophagus roddi (Guss.). Dissertation Abstracts International B Sciences and Engineering 45(8): 2426B

Field test results indicated that infestation of lucerne (Medicago spp.) by B. roddi varied between entries. Pod glandular hair length and density were negatively correlated with percentage seed infestation. Pods were found to be attractive to B. roddi regardless of species, hair type (simple or glandular) or field susceptibility.
