Studies of the effect of intensive nitrogen fertilization and methods of storage on losses of mass in table potatoes

, : Studies of the effect of intensive nitrogen fertilization and methods of storage on losses of mass in table potatoes. Biuletyn Instytutu Ziemniaka (28): 115-134

Tubers of potatoes Pola, Sowa and Soko given 0, 100 or 200 kg N/ha were analysed for quality either after lifting or in Jan. or March after storage in a clamp or store. Losses of DM, starch and protein were much higher after storage in clamps than in the store. By March, av. DM losses were 16.8-21.0% in the store and 30.0-59.8% in the clamp.
