In a study in Hungary, reproduction and development were compared in 3 lines of M. rotundata from Canada, one from Poland, and 1 mixed line. Based on number of cocoons and weight of cocoons, the initital population increased by 224% and 247%, respectively. Some differences were found between the Polish and Canadian bees. In all lines studied the proportions of parasitized and empty cocoons both decreased during the course of the trial.
