Wheat seed germination as influenced by fertilizer rate, fertilizer source, and spreader type with one-pass pneumatic seeding-fertilizing

, : Wheat seed germination as influenced by fertilizer rate, fertilizer source, and spreader type with one-pass pneumatic seeding-fertilizing. North Dakota Farm Research 42(6): 14-16, 20

The effect of different types of spreaders used with pneumatic sowing/fertilizer application equipment on wheat Wheaton seed germination was determined. The different spreader types gave max. (12-inch band), min. (6-inch band) or no (1-inch band) spread of seed and fertilizer. Fertilizer was applied at 0, 40 and 80 lb N/acre and 0 and 17 lb P/acre. Fertilizer rate and source and spreader type influenced stand reduction and yield potential when fertilizer was applied with the seed.
