A method of obtaining homozygous progeny in cotton

, : A method of obtaining homozygous progeny in cotton. USSR Patent: (A.s.1245288)

The method involves collecting seed only from those flowers which have selfed. These are identified by the fact that the stigma is located well down within the staminal column, the position of the stigma making cross-pollination impossible. Seed from such flowers has good viability.
