, : Developments in expert systems for pest management at Imperial College, UK. Review of Marketing and Agricultural Economics 55(2): 167-170

Expert systems (computer software) are now being developed for a range of pest management problems. The paper discusses developments in expert systems in pest management for: the cotton insect in Southern Africa; forecasting outbreaks of Armyworm in East Africa; controlling the rice brown planthopper in China; and for pests in stored grain. These are four projects currently using the Expert System approach at the Imperial College in the UK.
