The device can cut the food into slices of any thickness. It comprises a carrier with a top, a bottom, two sides, one enclosed end and a closable aperture end. A pusher, integral to the device, advances food within the carrier toward the aperture end, without handling the food, at which point a spring-actuated tensioned wire tool component, mounted on 2 spaced arms with a cross bar, can be manually pressured across the aperture end to sever the food.
