Efficiency of grazing by sheep and Barbery goats compared with grazing by sheep/goats alone

, : Efficiency of grazing by sheep and Barbery goats compared with grazing by sheep/goats alone. Rangelands: a resource under siege Proceedings of the 2nd International Rangeland Congress, Adelaide, Australia, 13-18 May 1984: 384-385

Grazing and production parameters of sheep and goats were observed on part of Thal tract, Pakistan. Both sheep and goats preferred Cenchrus ciliaris, Elionurus hirsutus, Pennisetum dichotomum, Cymbopogon jwarancusa, Aristida adscensionis, Eleusine flagellifera and Calligonum polygonoides. Goats also preferred Cynodon dactylon and grazed more on Tribulus terrestris, while Ziziphus nummularia was grazed by both but preferred by sheep.
