On anomalous segregation of culm length and heading time observed in the rice variety Nipponbare. III. The relationship between outcrossing and flowering, anther dehiscence and pollination processes

, : On anomalous segregation of culm length and heading time observed in the rice variety Nipponbare. III. The relationship between outcrossing and flowering, anther dehiscence and pollination processes. Bulletin, Faculty of Agriculture, Shimane University (19): 1-6

In comparison with 11 other varieties tested, Nipponbare showed few pollen grains on its stigmas and a low number of pollen grains per anther before anthesis. Delayed anther dehiscence, high retention of pollen in the anther after flowering and long duration of flowering were frequently observed in Nipponbare.
