Production and chemical compositions of Tyfon under various environmental conditions in Hokkaido, Japan

, : Production and chemical compositions of Tyfon under various environmental conditions in Hokkaido, Japan. Proceedings of the XV International Grassland Congress, August 24-31, 1985, Kyoto, Japan: 1259

The newly introduced Brassica Tyfon was studied for fodder production in Hokkaido, Japan in 1983-84. Tyfon gave higher fodder yields than other crops. The growth of Tyfon varied with agronomic practices. The appearance of the root was either round globe or tankard like a turnip or shaped like a burdock or a carrot. This was mainly to display the phenotype of parents to be controlled by adjusting plant density. The regrowth of Tyfon was very vigorous and its winterhardiness was very strong.
