, : Research needs and priorities for avian internal parasites in the United States. American Journal of Veterinary Research 47(7): 1624-1629

Information on the distribution and prevalence of protozoal (principally coccidiosis but also Histomonas, Cryptosporidium, Trichomonas gallinae) and helminth (mainly Ascaridia galli but also Capillaria obsignata, Heterakis gallinae, Dispharynx nasuta and Syngamus trachea) infections in poultry and game bird farming in the USA, and on the economic losses they cause is presented. The control measures implemented and their epidemiological impact are evaluated.
