Severe uterine hemorrhage from blastomycosis of the endometrium. A case report

, : Severe uterine hemorrhage from blastomycosis of the endometrium. A case report. Journal of Reproductive Medicine 32(3): 247-249

A case is reported in a 32-yr-old woman who presented with vaginal bleeding, a granulomatous lesion on the thigh and a breast abscess. Histopathological examination and culture of an endometrial biopsy revealed Blastomyces dermatitidis. The breast abscess and thigh lesion were also found to contain B. dermatitidis. The patient was treated with amphotericin B (0.25 mg/kg every 6 h for 24 h, and subsequently with 0.5 mg/kg every 6 h).
