Study of the flowering and fruiting habit of jute and techniques for its hybridization

, : Study of the flowering and fruiting habit of jute and techniques for its hybridization. China' s Fibre Crops (1): 7-9

The flowering period of Corchorus capsularis and C. olitorius covered about 25 days, with the peak at 9-10 days after initiation. The highest number of flowers was 34 in C. olitorius and 28 in C. capsularis. The accumulated temperature (<more or =>15 degrees C daily mean temperature) required for the development of fruit was about 900 degrees C.
