Wet and dry tillage practices in paddy production

, : Wet and dry tillage practices in paddy production. Agricultural Mechanization in Asia, Africa and Latin America 19(3): 29-31

The effect of cultivation operations on paddy production with various implements was investigated. The treatments used were: tine cultivation (12-15 cm), dry rotary cultivation (12-15 cm), dry mouldboard ploughing (25-30 cm), wet tine cultivation (12-15 cm) and wet rotary cultivation (12-15 cm). Wet rotary cultivation improved the paddy yield by 41% by increasing the number of tillers per hill (25%) and 1000 grain weight (35%) compared with tine cultivation.
