Alterations in the behavior of young and adult rats exposed to aldrin during lactation

, : Alterations in the behavior of young and adult rats exposed to aldrin during lactation. Brazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research 21(5): 987-990

Aldrin, an organochloride insecticide, may cross the placental barrier and may be excreted in the milk. The effects of the administration of aldrin during the period of lactation on behaviour of the litters were studied. The general activity of the young and adult animals was tested in an open field. In both situations, activity was higher in experimental than in control rats.
