Effect of date of sowing and irrigation levels on the incidence of leaf blight of wheat caused by Drechslera hawaiiensis (Bugnicourt) Subram. & Jain ex. M. B. Ellis

, : Effect of date of sowing and irrigation levels on the incidence of leaf blight of wheat caused by Drechslera hawaiiensis (Bugnicourt) Subram. & Jain ex. M. B. Ellis. Karnataka Journal of Agricultural Sciences 2(3): 199-202

Lines of a susceptible, local red wheat variety were sown at 10-d intervals (from 10 Nov. 1984 to 30 Mar. 1985) at Dharwad, Karnataka, India and incidence of D. hawaiiensis infection was recorded. Disease incidence was higher in wheat sown at the beginning of the season; after this, the decrease in RH and increase in temp. hindered disease development. The same trend was observed in another experiment in which 13 wheat varieties were sown on 3 dates.
