Feasibility of using the stable isotope 25Mg to study Mg metabolism in infants

, : Feasibility of using the stable isotope 25Mg to study Mg metabolism in infants. Pediatric Research 27(1): 36-40

During 5 months, 3 normal white term infants were given a stable isotope of magnesium, 25Mg orally 20 mg as a single feeding, 20 mg distributed over 24 h or 60 mg over 24 h. Mg isotope ratios were estimated by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry.
