Field and soil-bed stake tests and laboratory decay tests of wood-inhabiting fungi using Japanese beech sapwood

, : Field and soil-bed stake tests and laboratory decay tests of wood-inhabiting fungi using Japanese beech sapwood. Mokuzai Gakkaishi = Journal of the Japan Wood Research Society 35(4): 372-381

The decay of preservative-treated Japanese beech (Fagus crenata) sapwood stakes was studied in an unsterile soil-bed maintained at 26 degrees C and 90% RH (for accelerating decay) and in the field at Kinki University, Japan. It was found that the soil bed test took a quarter of the time taken by the field test to evaluate the performance of wood preservatives.
