Harvesting olives from the ground

, : Harvesting olives from the ground. Macchine e Motori Agricoli IMA Il Trattorista 47(9): 83-84

A description is given of a prototype machine, soon to be built, that will harvest olives from the ground and grade them mechanically, thus eliminating all manual handling of the crop. The self-propelled 10 kW machine, with pivots in the vertical and horizontal axes, has a small turning circle allowing it to work in confined and hilly situations. The pick-up roller, mounted on the horizontal axis and working against the forward movement of the vehicle, is connected to the chassis via a pivot.
