Measurements were made of temp., RH and temp. humidity index (THI) inside 3 cattle buildings, in the summer in Italy, and the heat stress to which the animals were subjected was assessed. Animal temp. (skin and rectal), respiration rate and relative milk yield were also measured. Stress was lowest in buildings in which temp. fluctuations were lowest.
