Studies on the establishment of the safety region for cultivating non-astringent persimmons

, : Studies on the establishment of the safety region for cultivating non-astringent persimmons. Research Reports of the Rural Development Administration, Horticulture 30(3): 56-76

The crop was cultivated on 9500 ha in 119 regions in 1987 and the average yield was 422.8 kg/10a; 45.2% of the trees were aged under 5 years and 6.2% were over 16 years old. Growing regions generally had mean air temperatures of 12 degrees C or over. Freeze injury percentages (for 1977 and 1981) were 10% at -10 degrees , 75% at -17 degrees and 100% at -20 degrees. Cultivars Ziron and Zenzimaru were the most frost resistant.
