The agricultural land tax in crisis

, : The agricultural land tax in crisis. INRA Sciences Sociales ( 1): 4pp.

The agricultural land tax is causing more controversy today in France than at almost any time in its 200 year history. From a total of 8000 F million, 4500 F million (representing 2.5% of agricultural value added and 5.5% of farm income) is paid by farmers. The remaining 3500 F million is paid by leaseholders. Criticism has been directed at the increases made to the land tax and the basis upon which it is assessed.
