The effect of some amino acids on feed consumption and efficiency of vomitoxin contaminated feed

, : The effect of some amino acids on feed consumption and efficiency of vomitoxin contaminated feed. Suomen Elainlaakarilehti 95(4): 172-177

Vomitoxin-contaminated oats were fed to young female rats in feeding experiments to show the effects of some amino acid supplements on the growth rate of the rats and on the palatability and efficiency of the feed. Lysine and methionine supplement in toxin-free feed increased growth rate and feed efficiency. Lysine and methionine supplementation of oats heavily contaminated with vomitoxin increased the toxic effect of vomitoxin-contaminated oats.
