The effect of water deficit during the specific growth stages on the yield of maize

, : The effect of water deficit during the specific growth stages on the yield of maize. Proceedings 15th ICID European Regional Conference (2): 266-307

Field experiments were carried out in Bulgaria's Plovdiv and Sofia regions over several years to investigate the sensitivity of maize to water deficit during different growth stages. In characterizing this sensitivity, the power indices in the Jensen formula were in the range of 0.1 to 0.6. The results indicate that the evapotranspiration-yield relationship is curvilinear and that for this particular situation it is +or- 20-30% different from traditional linear relations.
