Arthropod populations associated with a grassland infested by black grass bugs, Labops hesperius and Irbisia brachycera (Hemiptera: Miridae) in Utah, USA

, : Arthropod populations associated with a grassland infested by black grass bugs, Labops hesperius and Irbisia brachycera (Hemiptera: Miridae) in Utah, USA. FAO Plant Protection Bulletin 39(2-3): 75-81

Insects and spiders were sampled by sweep netting in a wheatgrass (Agropyron spp.) range infested with Labops hesperius and Irbisia brachycera in Utah during 1982. Nabis alternatus was the most important insect predator of L. hesperius, especially early in the season. Nabicula vanduzeei became abundant later. Immature nabids preferred to feed on cicadellids, small delphacids and other immature nabids. The thomisid Xysticus cunctator was an active predator of L. hesperius.
