, : Characteristics of water cycling in a spring wheat field in the semiarid area of West Liaoning. Journal of Ecology Beijing 9(3): 32-37

In field trials in 1987 in the semiarid area of W. Liaoning on a spring wheat field irrigated 0, 1 or 3 times, characteristics of field water cycling were studied. The max. water consumption of wheat plants was at the jointing-heading and milk-ripe stages but the daily max. consumption was at flowering. Soil moisture controlled water consumption by the wheat plants.
