Chemoresistance of Plasmodium falciparum in the Congo: surveys carried out between 1985 and 1989

, : Chemoresistance of Plasmodium falciparum in the Congo: surveys carried out between 1985 and 1989. Bulletin de la Societe de Pathologie Exotique et de ses Filiales 83(2): 228-241

The authors review, by means of the 7-day test in vivo, the sensitivity of Plasmodium falciparum to antimalarial drugs in the Congo between 1985 and 1989.From the end of 1985 there was a wide-spread and increasing resistance to the 4-amino-quinolines in the central part of the country; This resistance was less well marked in the north; Amodiaquine was only slightly more effective than chloroquine in Brazzaville in November 1986.
