, : Cruises. Leisure Intelligence 2: 1-23

The cruise industry has traditionally catered for a well defined target market consisting mainly of wealthy elderly people. In recent years cruise operators have made great efforts to broaden their appeal. The phenomenal growth of the cruise market would suggest that they have had some success in achieving their aims. In 1990 about 186 500 UK passengers took a cruise, representing a 10% increase on the previous year.
