Cultivar specificity in response of spring wheat to treatment with growth regulators

, : Cultivar specificity in response of spring wheat to treatment with growth regulators. Nauchnye Doklady Vysshei Shkoly, Biologicheskie Nauki (2): 119-126

In a field trial in 1986 with 2 spring wheat cultivars, the effects of 1% CCC 0.5% ethephon and their mixtures in different ratios applied at the end of tillering on growth and development were studied. The treatments decreased plant height and spike length and slowed down flower development, all of which increased the vegetative growth period and decreased the number of grains/spike. However, some treatments increased the number of ear-bearing tillers.
