Dynamics of transportable carbohydrates and activity of some enzymes in cotton seeds in relation to oil accumulation

, : Dynamics of transportable carbohydrates and activity of some enzymes in cotton seeds in relation to oil accumulation. Uzbekskii Biologicheskii Zhurnal ( 4): 3-5

In experiments with 4 lines of cotton mutant L-180 differing in seed oil contents, links between oil accumulation in developing seeds and sugar contents and enzyme activity were studied. Monosaccharide and oligosaccharide contents continued to increase until oil synthesis was complete, indicating that seed sugar content is not a factor limiting oil accumulation.
