Effect of date of sowing on incidence of greengram powdery mildew

, : Effect of date of sowing on incidence of greengram powdery mildew. Karnataka Journal of Agricultural Sciences 4(3-4): 165-167

In field trials in Dharwad, Karnataka, India, the first symptoms of powdery mildew (Erysiphe polygoni) on greengram (Vigna radiata) appeared after 52, 37, 22 and 15 d after planting on Jun. 8, Jun. 23, Jul. 8 and Jul. 23, respectively. Early-sown crops had the lowest percentage disease index and the highest grain yield. In the late-sown crops, disease developed most quickly at a min. mean temp. of 20 degrees C, and RH 82.5-83.5%.
