Feeding pigs weaned at three to four weeks of age

, : Feeding pigs weaned at three to four weeks of age. Swine nutrition: 497-508

Nutrient requirements for pigs of various body weight ranges, from 1 to 110 kg, are tabulated. Supplementing starter diets comprising cereals, soyabean meal and minerals plus vitamins (simple diets) with fats, oils, milk products and some soya flours can improve growth and feed conversion of pigs weaned at 3-4 weeks old. The addition of flavour compounds, antibiotics, copper, organic acids and probiotics is also discussed.
