Former savannah or former forest: effect of pathogen isolates on the performance of oil palm families with respect to Fusarium wilt

, : Former savannah or former forest: effect of pathogen isolates on the performance of oil palm families with respect to Fusarium wilt. Oleagineux Paris 46(5): 179-186

In Cote d'Ivoire, vascular wilt expression varies according to the previous plant cover (savannah or forest) on the land where oil palm plantations were set up in the 1960s: former savannah zones are marked by the prevalence of chronic symptoms which appeared early on, whereas the former forest zones harbour cases of acute vascular wilt, which occurred after 15 years of planting, rapidly killing the oil palms after appearance of the first symptoms.
