During the autumn and winter of 1988-1989, 159 samples of finishing feed were evaluated in the Swine Slaughter Check Program run by the University of Georgia, USA. Information from producer questionnaires and chemical analyses of feed were used to evaluate each producer's feeding programme. Of the 159 samples, 72 were free of nutritional problems that would affect pig performance.
