Increasing Hass fruit size

, : Increasing Hass fruit size. Yearbook South African Avocado Growers' Association 14: 38

Fruit thinning and fruitlet treatment with CPPU (N-(2-chloro-4-pyridyl)-N-phenylurea) (forchlorfenuron, which exhibits high cytokinin activity) were compared for improving fruit size in Hass. Hand thinning in Feb. 1990 to remove all fruits less than 55 mm or less than 60 mm in diameter proved ineffective. However, dipping fruitlets in Nov. 1989 in a solution containing 10 p.p.m.
