Genetic analysis of resistance in the parents, F1, F2 and backcrosses to each parent after inoculation indicated that resistance of the stems and leaves to the pathogen is controlled by additive and dominant genes with some epistatic effects. The degree of dominance, and the direction in which it acted, depended to a great extent on the direction of the cross.
