Observations on Theileria annulata infection in Hyalomma anatolicum anatolicum adult tick

, : Observations on Theileria annulata infection in Hyalomma anatolicum anatolicum adult tick. Indian Veterinary Journal 64(5): 370-373

Theileria annulata-infected acini in H. anatolicum anatolicum were studied by staining tick salivary glands by the methyl green pyronin technique. The nuclei of parasitized cells were hyperplastic and showed intense blue-green staining. The parasitic mass also stained blue-green, but less intensely so than the nucleus. Non-infected cells were pushed to one side of the acinus and could be identified by their nuclei (centrally-placed and less-heavily staining than those in infected cells).
