Occurrence of ptelecultinium in Ptelea trifoliata L

, : Occurrence of ptelecultinium in Ptelea trifoliata L. Pharmazie 45(9): 698

The dihydrofurouinolinium alkaloid ptelecultinium is known to accumulate in the roots of P. trifoliata. In the present study, it was shown that the alkaloid was not detectable by OPLC in the stems, leaves and flowers of mature trees. However, various 3-year-old callus cultures contained from 62 to 1800 micro g/g DW, and the cotyledons, roots, hypocotyls and leaves of 2-leaved seedlings averaged from 5400 to 8900 micro g/g DW, of the alkaloid.
