, : Preweaning performance of kids of the West African Dwarf (WAD) goat in their native environment. Bulletin of Animal Health and Production in Africa 38(4): 399-403

For 147 kids, birth weight averaged 1.16+or-0.01 kg and weaning weight at 90 days of age 6.00+or-0.2 kg, being heavier than Litter size affected birth weight. 24.6% of the kids died before 90 days of age; survival rate was affected by litter size and birth weight.
