Studies on the late sowing technology for high yield of winter wheat

, : Studies on the late sowing technology for high yield of winter wheat. Acta Agriculturae Universitatis Pekinensis 16(3): 263-271

In field trials in 1985-88, winter wheat Yannong No. 15 was sown by 3 high-yielding methods (precision, conventional or late sowing without tillering) at different dates and density. From mathematical simulations, the frequency distributions of high yielding combinations giving >300 kg/mu were 30.5% for precision sowing on 27 Sep., 45.8% for conventional sowing on 30 Sep.-5 Oct. and 23.7% for late sowing on 10-15 Oct.
