Studies on the ultrastructure of brain-corpus cardiacum in the lady beetle, Coccinella septempunctata bruckii. II. Seasonal changes in ultrastructure of corpus allatum

, : Studies on the ultrastructure of brain-corpus cardiacum in the lady beetle, Coccinella septempunctata bruckii. II. Seasonal changes in ultrastructure of corpus allatum. Research Bulletin of the Faculty of Agriculture, Gifu University ( 53): 175-181

Seasonal changes in the ultrastructure of the corpus allatum in females of Coccinella septempunctata bruckii were studied to determine the endocrine control of diapause. The corporus allatum, located at the end of the brain-corpus cardiacum system, was composed of neurosecretory cells and a finger-like pericardium which was supplied with many axons.
