Study of some aspects of feeding behaviour in domestic rabbits

, : Study of some aspects of feeding behaviour in domestic rabbits. Zhivotnov' dni Nauki 26(3): 65-69

Feeding behaviour was studied in 6 experiments with 24 New Zealand White rabbits, 3 months old, in a normal physiological state or deprived of coprophagy. Rabbits were given a pelleted feed with 17.03, 17.08 or 17.06% crude protein and 10.40, 12.51 or 14.59% crude fibre. Most feed was consumed and most faeces excreted at night (67 to 74 and 74 to 82% of total between 16.00 and 04.00 h, respectively).
